100 MILE & DISTRICT
SEARCH and RESCUE

The 100 Mile & District Search and Rescue Society is one of approximately 100 Search & Rescue (SAR) groups in British Columbia. OMADSAR was formally incorporated as a non-profit society under the auspices of the Provincial Emergency Program in the spring of 2001. We operate under the direction of the 100 Mile RCMP Detachment.

What We Do

  • Provide a service to the citizens and visitors of 100 Mile House and its surrounding area by searching for missing persons and assisting at community emergencies (when requested by the RCMP)
  • Organize and develop trained teams and team members to competently handle emergencies which may arise
  • Increase community awareness in outdoor safety, survival, rescue and first aid
  • Conduct fundraising activities
  • Participate in community events
  • Make ourselves available for mutual aid to other communities and SAR groups.

OMADSAR offers volunteer services for various community events to meet the challenges of raising community awareness and finding new ways to fundraise. Some of these activities are: running concession stands, highway clean-up, and offering first aid services for sporting events.
If you have further ideas for fundraising activities or venues requiring volunteer services, please let us know.
